...a do over.

I made this painting of Big Fat Maggie last year. Later that evening after a few glasses of wine, I attempted to make it even better! Lesson learned; it’s never a good idea to fix things when you’re drunk! So she sat around for over a year till I re did her this morning. I had to take a break from the cows and remember that I do know how to paint! That’s another important lesson. Every now and then paint something fun and easy, sometimes even familiar as a way to reinforce your self esteem. At least it works for me that way.

  1. Maggie's glad you got her out and gave her a re-'do'! I really like it.

I completely agree with your suggestion to 'take a day off' from what has become a routine. I always do a still life- set up with a few of my favorite things, especially books and oddities I've collected. It really gives me a new outlook on myself.

  2. Jeff, we are friends on Facebook and now I'm a huge fan of your art. I live in Florida - we are a whole country apart. I had such fun looking at your entire blog and kept thinking "He could really do so much more" - I just can't explain what that would be, but you have the talent. The changes you made to Big Fat Maggie show just how far you've come in a year. Yeah Jeff, I wish I had half your talent! Maybe I'd even try nude men - then again...! ❤ Beckie
